Transactive Incentive Signals to Manage Energy Consumption (TIME): The System- and Market-Based Transactive Load Management (TLM)
Transactive load management uses demand response, control technologies, and communications with end-user devices to manage flexible energy flows in the grid. Drawing on quantitative and qualitative analyses from experts, this report proposes the design of a grid-integrated transactive load management signaling framework and deployment techniques.
This presentation explores the potential impacts of variable renewable energy on coal and natural gas generation in the Northwest-Central region of the United States. It is based on analysis with EPRI’s U.S. Regional Economy, Greenhouse Gas, and Energy model.
The focus of this study is identifying and resolving operational challenges related to power plant cycling, drawing from previous EPRI reports, literature reviews, and interviews with utilities about operating experiences.
